Skills
- Fire Safety Systems: Proficiency in installing fire alarm systems, fire suppression systems (e.g., sprinklers, gas systems), emergency lighting, and other fire safety equipment.
- Protocols and Regulations: Knowledge of local and international fire safety codes, regulations, and standards (e.g., NFPA, OSHA) to ensure compliance during installation.
- System Operation: Understanding of how fire safety systems operate, including control panels, detectors, alarms, and suppression systems.
- Preventive Maintenance: Ability to conduct regular inspections, testing, and maintenance of fire safety systems to ensure functionality and readiness.
- Diagnostic Abilities: Capability to diagnose and troubleshoot issues with fire safety systems, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Analytical Thinking: Capacity to analyze fire safety risks and recommend preventive measures or improvements.
- Effective Communication: Clear communication skills to convey fire safety protocols, procedures, and emergency instructions to staff and occupants.
- Training: Conducting fire safety training programs for employees, educating them on fire prevention, evacuation procedures, and the use of fire extinguishers.
- Reporting: Ability to prepare detailed reports on fire incidents, safety violations, and recommendations for improvements.
Job Description
- Report unsafe acts and conditions daily.
- Follow the Work Permit System procedures and issue permits as required daily.
- Monitor and maintain records of safety talks with the HSE representative.
- Implement emergency communications in accordance with the On-Site Emergency Plan.
- Actively participate in accident and incident investigations, ensuring timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Conduct internal safety audits, facility inspections, and track compliance with recommendations.
- Organize and participate in mock drills.
- Provide on-the-job and classroom training on Safety & Health topics.
- Respond to emergency situations and follow the On-Site Emergency Plan.
- Conduct safety meetings with contract workers and supervisors.
- Ensure the operational health of fire protection and detection systems.
- Ensure the ongoing maintenance and effectiveness of fire protection and detection systems.
